More trees volunteer cabin, bath
A warm, low-impact base built to support the people restoring Bath’s woodlands and wild spaces.
Created for More Trees BANES, a local charity dedicated to growing, planting and protecting trees across Bath and North East Somerset, this cabin provides a practical, welcoming hub for their volunteer team. It offers shelter during conservation work, a place for meetings, tea breaks and training, and a quiet office space at the heart of their operations.
Designed and built by Roundwood Design, the cabin was largely prefabricated at our workshop, where insulated floor, wall and roof panels were built before being assembled on site around a round pole timber frame. The structure stands on concrete pillars, lifting it clear of the ground to allow airflow beneath the floor while reducing concrete use and ground disturbance.
Clad in durable larch boards with double-glazed UPVC windows and a galvanised steel roof, the building is simple, robust, and made to last — a modest but essential space supporting the people who care for the land around it.
